Your Alsta wristwatch ownership FAQs
We recommend that the water-resistance of your watch be checked every year (partial service with movement check) if you use it when swimming or diving.
Like any other precision instrument, a watch should be serviced regularly to ensure that it runs perfectly. There are no hard & fast rules as there are many variables depending upon how well the watch is looked after, the climate in which you live and what type of wear and use the watch is subjected to. We would however recommend that your watch should be serviced every 3 to 5 years.
You should always send your watch back to Alsta. That way, you can be sure that the proper tools are used, the correct checks carried out and, if necessary, maintenance or adjustments made. Also, the watch needs to be re-sealed for water resistance whenever repairs or maintenance are carried out.
As with servicing, you should always send your watch back to Alsta to have your crystal replaced. That way, you can be sure that the proper tools will been used and the correct checks carried out. Also, the watch needs to be re-sealed for water resistance whenever a new crystal is fitted. Having this done elsewhere will invalidate the Alsta warranty.
We do not produce hard copy instruction manuals. Instead we aim to keep this FAQ section updated with all of the information you will need to operate your Alsta timepiece and keep it in the best possible condition.
Sudden temperature changes are extremely harsh on the water resistance of watches. For example if you lie in the sun and then dive into cold water, the thermal shock can cause different rates of expansion and contraction of materials and could compromise the water resistance of your watch.
